One evening, I was called to pray for a dying man who was greatly suffering. When I was at his bedside, I began to say the Chaplet which the Lord had taught me. When I finished, I wanted to pray the litany to the saints, but I heard these words: "Keep saying the Chaplet. Pray it from the depths of your heart." I slowly took off the crucifix around my neck and kissed it. Then I put it on the chest of the dying man and said to Jesus, "Look at his soul as you look at mine, with great love. Please grant him the mercy of a happy death." His suffering ceased, and he died peacefully. Oh, how much we should pray for the dying. I have come to realize more and more how much every soul needs God's mercy throughout life, and especially at the hour of death. Our Lord has taught me that this Chaplet, when said with trust, will save countless number of souls.
